CRAFT On-Farm Chicken Processing

  • Feathers & Fruits Farm Soddy Daisy, Tennessee (map)

You learn hands-on, knuckle deep how to harvest a live chicken then take it home fresh, never frozen to enjoy right off the farm. Harvesting the bird, plucking the feathers, removing head & feet, removing entrails and being left with a pristine poultry piece of edible art-- All await you! Wear clothes you don't mind getting muddy or bloody. Bring a reusable water bottle, drinks or other sustenance. Bring a cooler to take your homework with you along with any other farm fresh goodies you wish to purchase. Then be ready to take charge of your food while becoming more connected to it.

This workshop will be followed by a light dinner after we thoroughly wash our hands!

Class max of 15 participants. If you wish to watch and learn but not participate, please reach out to Emily with the Southeast TN Young Farmers/ Southeast TN CRAFT at setnyfcoordinator@gmail.com or (516)279-8871
