Ag Day on the Hill
On March 17, 2026, we gathered in Nashville with farmers and farm advocates from across the state for Ag Day on the Hill!
We talked with lawmakers about the issues that young and beginning farmers face and advocated for continued support for purchasing programs that build up local food economies, soil health initiatives, protection for farmers from unintended soil contamination, and continued measures to address farmland protection and access.
Thank you to the lawmakers who took the time to meet and listen to us, including Representative Charlane Oliver, Representative Michele Reneau, Senator Rusty Crowe, Representative Vincent Dixie, Representative Tandy Darby, Representative Monty Fritts, Representative Greg Vital, Representative Rush Bracken Representative Justin Jones, Representative Bo Watson, Representative Greg Martin, and Representative Esther Helton-Haynes.
One of our chapter members who attended Ag Day on the Hill shared her reflections in a Food as a Verb article. Read Madison Baldwin’s account of the day at the Food as a Verb website!
